About my business!
I specialise in American N-scale models.
N-scale has always been my chosen scale, so it seamed obvious to set up my business to supply the scale I love. The quality of Models available is excellent and even before the fall of the dollar very reasonably priced.
I only sell the best models available.
I will not take on a line unless I have 100% belief in the quality of the product. Some manufacturers dont seam able to deliver a model that operates correctly first time every time. You will not find their products here. All the rolling stock I keep have knucle style couplers. The ability to automatically couple and uncouple cars is one of the joys of American model trains.
I want all my customers to be happy customers.
If you are not happy with any aspect of the service I provide please tell me. I am an enthusiast running a business for pleasure but set myself the highest standards for customer service.
About me!
I run my business part time. When not selling trains I have a young family and a full time job to keep me occupied. My day job is managing a plant hire business near Heathrow Airport, you never know, someday I may make some money and be able to pack it in!
My Interests
I have always been interested in modelling whether boats, planes or military, but over the last ten years these interests have given way to railways. I started out with plans to model Padstow in N-guage during the hayday of the Great Western Railway. I soon found out that the town was served by the Southern Railway, the Great Western stopping short at Bodmin! From then on my love of all things London and South Western Railways started. This was soon followed by Graham Farish, producer of most British N-guage at the time, going bust. Soon I was frustrated by the lack of models available and the poor running qualities of those I ccould find.
I looked round the hobby for something different to model; I liked European, German or Swiss mountains appealed but the model prices put me off. Japanese offered good looking and good running models at reasonable prices but due to the language barrier I found it all "inscrutable". American was the answer! The models looked good, where reasonabley priced and we shared a common language.
Initially I was interested in the contemporary scene and started modelling the Minnesota Commercial, a transfer rail road that operated in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul). The road offered long and short trains pulled by large Alco diesels and the possibility of combining operations of five major rail roads onto a single layout. My interest has now moved back in time to first generation diesels and smaller freight cars.
